Carpathian Wolves is the first full-length album from Graveland, though The Celtic Winter contains just about as much actual music and possesses a higher sound quality. Released in December , this record seems to represent a step backward and bears a number of weaknesses.

Carpathian Wolves is the first full-length studio album by the black metal band Graveland. Unlike many more recent albums by Graveland which mix black metal with many elements of folk, pagan and sometimes even viking metal, Carpathian Wolves is raw black metal in its purest form.

Oct 05,  · Starting off with a haunting intro of wind, howling and barking wolves, ethnic-style drumming and strings, you are immediately taken to the Carpathians. After the intro you are taken into the majestic melodies of the opening song Barbarism Returns. With Graveland, keyboards are used but not to the extent that Dimmu Borgir or Limbonic Art use them.5/5(1).

Sep 21,  · The real reason to listen to Carpathian Wolves is the atmosphere and on that level, I think the album is entirely successful and worthy of a listen or two for anyone into black metal. As mentioned earlier, Barbarism Returns is great as are Witches Holocaust, At the Pagan Samhain Night and Unpunished Herd/5(6).

Also the GRAVELAND logo and album title printed on the disc are smaller in size than Variant 1 Matrix disc. This unholy stuff was recorded in Radio PRO FM Studio, Opole in the days of pagan mysteries of the Beltaine, / of /5(47).
